The State of Education in India – A Human Rights Perspective
Education is a fundamental human right, yet millions of children in India remain deprived of it due to poverty, inequality, and systemic barriers. Despite the Right to Education (RTE) Act, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, teacher shortages, and gender-based disparities persist.
For marginalized communities, particularly in rural areas, access to quality education is a distant dream. Girls often face additional challenges, including early marriages and societal restrictions. The Human Rights and Social Justice Mission is actively working to bridge these gaps through awareness campaigns, scholarships, and advocacy for better implementation of RTE.
As we commemorate World Human Rights Day, let us pledge to work towards an inclusive education system that leaves no child behind.
